Say no to 12 oaks!

Please just say no to 12 Oaks Mall and Cherry Hill Photo for your Santa visit! A friend informed me that you are not aloud to take your own photographs of your kids with Santa. You must purchase the photos that Cherry Hill Photo takes and 12 Oaks probably profits from. So I sent a letter to 12 Oaks letting them now I thought the policy was absurd and I would not be going to see Santa at 12 Oaks.

Here is their reply:

“We are in receipt of your email message regarding the experiences you and your friend had at Twelve Oaks. Obviously, our goal is to provide a positive interaction with each person that comes to the Center... I'm sorry to hear that yours were not positive.
You are right, there is a sign asking that the use of personal cameras not take place after a certain point. This sign is placed after the children walk through the giant snow globe (where you're welcome to take photos) and before the child visits Santa. As a company, we have chosen not to verbally enforce this policy, but to rely on the honor system and peer pressure. No
children are ever denied a visit with Santa, we simply ask that people refrain from taking personal photos.
I cannot guarantee that an individual from Cherry Hill Photo would not say something... however our recommended approach is definitely communicated to the management of the photo operation. As a professional photographer, I'm sure you can understand the sensitivity, as this is their core business. That being said... we absolutely want each child's experience to be
pleasant and do not want economics to sway that.

Thanks for passing along your comments to us.”

To me this says, sorry for your troubles but this is the way it is and if you don't like it don't come to our mall because plenty of other people do and a few unhappy people really do not matter.

I will probably still go to 12 Oaks to walk around and use their play area for the kids but I will not spend any money or go see their Santa.

BTW the Santa at Laurel Park Mall has always been a good Santa.
